Photo Hunt - Antique

As this is mainly a stitching blog, I thought I'd share some of my older stitching items with you for the Photo Hunt theme 'Antique'.

These are mostly bits I inherited from my gran, but I think some of them belonged originally to my great-grandmother. The knitting bag and needles were my gran's. The thimble and old needle case are older. The cases with 'Studs' on it contains old press studs (snappers). The rest of the stitching stuff is just older bits and pieces. Lastly, the tiny books in the top were my great-grandmother's. There's no publishing date but they're late 19th century or very early 20th century. Nothing to do with stitching but they're so small I thought you'd like to see them. They're Hymns Ancient and Modern and the Book of Common Prayer - a small set to carry to church.

What a lovely collection of treasures! I think I have a pack of those Millwards needles too - my MIL gave me a bag of stuff which belonged to DH's aunt which had loads of threads and bits and pieces in.

I have some spools of thread that look just like that, that I found in an old sewing basket of my aunt's.

I always love stopping by to see what wonderful things you're working on.
