WIPs and the start of my Olympic Stitching
First, a couple of WIPs to show you. Sorry the pics are all so dark - I took them outside but it was really misty first thing this morning.
There's a lovely new mystery Quaker freebie out, and I really, really wanted to start it. So, I'm doing one length of thread a day. I reckon this will keep it going without interfering too much with everything else. This is as far as I've got on day 4. It's such fun to do!

I'm stitching it on 40ct Pearled Barley from Lakeside Linens (my first time on 40ct and I'm really enjoying it) with Dinky Dyes Midnight (yummy!). I want to do the smaller motifs in a coffee colour but haven't found the right thread yet.
In between doing that, I've been working on Dawn's RR. Here's my bit so far:

And here's the whole thing:

And lastly, here's Alpine at the start of my Olympic SAL.

I have some work I have to do first, but I'm going to get started later today. I have four goals, and I hope to get two done, and possibly three. The fourth is just there for something to aim at!
1. Finish part 8
2. Bead part 8
3. Stitch the inside border for part 9 (with all the speciality stitches)
4. Finish half of part 9
Watch this space!

Go girl! You can do it!
ReplyDeleteI think you're doing really well. I've given up on my Alpine for now, it's just now what I want to stitch. Medieval Sampler starts next month, so my single Chatelaine rule right now is that Alpine must be finished before anything else is started.
Hi Nicki :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, all your projects are looking awesome! I love your color choices on the quaker mystery! WOOHOO! I hope to at least start mine this month-but I have made no decisions on fabric and/or fiber as of yet.
Alpine is one gorgeous piece! WOW! I can't wait for an update on it :)
hugs to you and thanks again for your efforts on the Garden Exchange :) :) :)
You really are a stitching icon... sometimes i look at your work, the quality, quantity and speed and i feel like a pretender...
