Polo update
Thank you for all your suggestions and good wishes for Polo. We did speak to the vet yesterday (she's absolutely wonderful) and we've given up on the cage. It was a big one but Polo obviously hated it. She's actually scraped her face rubbing it against the side.
Martin cleared out the spare room last night while I sat with an exhausted cat on my lap for an hour or so, and now Polo's shut in there. It will be home for at least a couple of weeks. She has to move as little as possible so the knee can heal. There's a mattress on the floor, and blankets, food, water etc, but nothing she can jump onto. Not that she can move much, poor poppet. She's mastering hopping today but yesterday she kept falling over. We're taking it in turns to keep her company - a good thing we both work from home! She's had a lot of tuna with painkiller mixed in, and I think she's sleeping.

I am so sorry for your kitty! Your vet can help you the most. If needed, your vet can give you a small sedative but I am sure you have already talked to them. I hope your kitty gets much better without surgery! I myself have had to have two partial knee replacements so I feel for your kitty! My husband and I had to break up a fight between two male bigger dogs and managed to both get slightly hurt. I just hurt my right hand, but hopefully will be able to stitch. My husband is doing better today too. I feel I will be able to stitch and the dogs are fine and doing well. What a weekend! Debby

ReplyDeleteZeus was unwell not long ago and to keep him calm out vet gave me a syringe with morphine in it and I had to give him a wee bit of that. It helphed heaps.
And there is a homeopathic thing called acenite that you can get from the helth shops that is good too.
Good luck, thinking of you all. Polo will love you being near to him for sure. That will keep him calmer just knowing you are there.
