Stitching and reading...

Before I answer this week's Image hosted by Photobucket.com , here's an updated pic of my HAED stitchathon stitching because I have to share her.

"This week's questions were inspired by Caroline. She can't read The Joy Luck Club without thinking of potstickers and wontons... And no, we're not talking about cookbooks here. Please leave those out of this discussion."

1. Do you enjoy books that have cooking or eating scenes in them?
I can't say I particularly enjoy books just because they have cooking or eating scenes in them. I can remember cooking and eating scenes now I think about it, but I didn't pay special attention to them when I read the books. I guess that's the sign of a good book - if the scenes fit within the story so well they don't stand out.

2. Have you made or eaten anything that was inspired by a recipe or scene in a book?
No, but I do like the fact that Nancy Atherton's Aunt Dimity stories have recipes at the back. I always mean to try one or two of them but haven't got round it it yet!

  2. Splash is looking stunning!!

I have to admit I am influenced by food in fiction, my recent Diane Mott Davidson's and Susan Wittig Albert's have pretty drool worthy food scenes.
