Rotation thoughts

I've been thinking about my number of WIPs yet again and trying to come up with a format that means I can work on them regularly and start new things too! And I think I may have come up with a rotation that's flexible enough for my fickle ways yet makes me get round to those old WIPs!

I've split my WIPs into five categories. I'm thinking of stitching on each category in turn for a minimum of 4 days and a maximum of 10 (so if I'm not enjoying it I still do a fair amount and if I'm loving it I get a bit longer).

They are:
Cute and/or Quick
HAED
Chatelaine
BAP for Martin
Miscellaneous WIPs

I've numbered the WIPs within each category:
e.g.
Miscellaneous
1 Fantastical Cats (Character Creations)
2 Fruit and Floral Wreath (TW)
3 Quaker a 6 Mains
4 The Token (Long Dog)
5 Water Tiger II (Kustom Krafts)

I work through the numbers each time, so number one in each category, then number 2, etc. I can add in new starts but I'll still have to rotate though everything in each category in turn, no matter how many there are.

I still need to finalise it and work out how to fit in some obligation stitching, but I think it might work. I also need to think about my HAEDs - I may have to do a rotation within a rotation for them so I concentrate on two or three and make some progress.

And if you're wondering about the BAP for Martin category - my dear DH wants me to stitch this....

Martin doesn't want much, does he?

I look forward to seeing how this turns out for you.

I've figured out the next rotation plan I'm going to try - not I just need to get well enough to start working on it.

Good luck with your rotation system, takes time to find the right one for everybody.

Your husband is very ambicious with that GK design.. You can teach him to stitch and he can do it by himself LOL.

  5. I'm glad you know what your doing as I'm lost but then again I've not done rotation stitching....I try to finish one thing 1st or I just abandon it as a UFO but I really don't have that many of them. Now if I was doing big things that would be a different story. Are you going to fit your MC Shaker Spool Holder in there somewhere? I think Danielle is starting again it will have to be SAL phase 2....lol

  9. Holy cow! Martin will surely appreciate that one though - and it is a great painting. I am anxious to see how your rotation works for you. I haven't yet been able to figure one out for myself.

  10. Good luck with your rotation just don't forget that a good rotation is also a wip and isn't set in stone.

Holy Cow that's certainly a BAP! Good Luck

  11. Keep us posted about how your rotation progresses. It takes a lot of tweaking to find what will work for you. I can't deal with anything but a screaming rotation.

That is one outrageous project Martin has chosen! Wow!

  12. Good luck with your rotation. Wowser Martin doesn't want much does he.... Good luck if you decide to stitch it, I'm positive he will appreciate it, how long do you think it would take you to stitch it - me, it would be never.

  13. Very cool rotation system, Nicki! Do you have a time frame for each piece to be worked on? I really have to think of some way to get all the things worked on that I would like to do and still get some finishes in there too.
