Squished beads!

After a bit of a battle with the beads, here's my Pompeii Garden progress!

Hand-dyed 32ct is too small for this many beads really. Especially horizontally as the beads are a teeny bit wider than they are long. I should have gone to 30ct, but I think it'll be OK when stretched for framing (a long way down the road!). And I'm not changing the fabric now! It was a bit of a fight to get a couple of them in there and you can see the edges bulging a bit. It's certainly not perfect and it doesn't lie flat unless you stretch it. But it's very sparkly!

  1. I think it looks really pretty and will be just fine once it's framed!

Look at all that sparkle. This one looks even better stitched up than in the digital pic online!

  7. (Wiping drool off chin) It's looking wonderful ... just wonderful ... I've got a funny feeling I'm gonna end up having to buy this one for myself after watching yours for too much longer ;) Maybe I'd better get cracking on Egyptian Garden to see if I'm up for another one ;)

  14. PG looks great!! That beading problem is pretty typical with some of Martina's designs - she loves to cram them in! But it will look great when it gets framed up!! I have similar issues with Mystery IX!
