Photo Scavenger Hunt

First, thank you all SO much for your comments on Pompeii. I've never had so many comments - this design is definitely a hit! I've done a little more but had to stop to do two small gifts. Both are secret so I can't share them yet.

In lieu of stitching photos, I saw this on Anne's blog and thought it was a great idea. You can find details here. I might copy Anne and gradually post pictures of the themes I missed, but I'm really busy right now and don't have time to scan the one I need for 'white'.

This week's photo theme is 'growth'.

The first photo that came to mind is this one of Tane Mahuta, one of the giant kauri trees in the north of the country. We were here nearly 2 years ago and it's incredible. There's no way a photo can do justice to the height or size of the tree and the peace of the forest (even with people tramping round it). You can also see a bit of the native bush - it grows so fast.

And thinking of growing fast, my second option for a photo was this:

This is the tree fern outside our living room window. All those fronds are new in the last 6 weeks or so - you can see they are still soft. And there are still fronds coming up from the middle. If we don't cut it back we'll be living in a forest!

  1. I love your photos - I have to admit every time I see a new fern frond all curled up it makes my heart sigh :) I think this photo hunt thing will be fun! :D

  2. Beautiful photos!

I love tree ferns. I saw them in Australia and they always looked so ancient. I don't mean old, but like something that's been around forever as a species. Made me think of dinosaurs :)
