A lovely day!

We had a lovely day yesterday. Jo and Pete came to visit! We started off with trips to the embroidery and model stores for the girls and boys respectively, and then we all went back to our house for a long chat and a BBQ and beer and wine. We had a great time, I hope they did too! We kept them up quite late so I hope you both slept well and had a good flight down south today!

Jo had brought me gifts...

Yummy chocolates! But the larger tin isn't what it seems. Look at the absolutely gorgeous little sewing set inside! It's so cute. I think it'll stay on the table by my lamp so I can see it and don't lose my needles! Thank you again so much.

I had stitched Jo a little something too. And the really funny thing is that I did it over the weekend - at the same time as Anne and Karen. So we all had a SAL without realising it! Did anyone else join us unknowingly?!

It's Winter's Eve by Country Cottage Needleworks, from the 2006 JCS ornament issue and stitched on 32ct Eucalyptus from Countrystitch. I didn't have the variegated threads so I substituted with a couple of Crescent Colors from my stash.

  2. Funny because I was working on this ornie too! I have to finish the border and then it is done.

How sweet of Jo to stitch the stitching accessories for you!

We had an awesome time Nicki! Thank you so much for all the food, drink, and hospitality. Sorry I kind of conked out towards the end of the evening! We made it to Dunedin OK and it's sunny but a wee tad chilly here this morning. Mum's computer needs some attention from Pete and we're going to switch her over to broadband so hopefully I'll be able to blog soon.
