Ornie SAL again

It was the ornament SAL weekend and here's my February ornament! I didn't have a lot of stitching time this weekend so I actually finished off an ornament I started last year. It's Fancy Work's Sampler Noel stitched on 28ct Haystack from Countrystitch with Gloriana Cranberry. The fabric it's on is what I'll use for the backing when I make it up.

The original is missing 'J' from the alphabet so I added it and then had to move the rest of the letters to fit them in. All a bit fiddly! If I'd realised soon enough I could have just squashed it in on the line but I'd stitched 'H' before I spotted it and I wasn't frogging over one red silk!

The last of my gifts arrived too - a humbug for Lina! I forgot to take a photo but you can see it on Lina's blog. It's soft colours that I hoped Lina would like. There's a link in my sidebar for a humbug tutorial if anyone wants to give it a go - they're fun to do!

  2. Very pretty ornament! I can attest that frogging over one red silk leaves quite a mess...but I didn't really have a choice on mine :(

  9. It's beautiful! But how annoying to have that one letter missing (!). I wouldn't have frogged either :) And it looks great the way it is!

I do really like the colors on the humbug! Thank you once more! I just posted a better picture of it on my blog. I'll have to try making them myself one day!
