Redwork exchange part 2
The exchange piece that I stitched for Barbara finally arrived! I was beginning to wonder where it had got to but post to mainland Europe does seem to take a few more days than post to the UK.
I stitched Barbara part of a freebie from The Needle's Content over 1 on 28ct Light Sand linen using DMC 115. I turned it into a mattress (my first!) using Vero's wonderful instructions, and then made a little fob to go with it.

ReplyDeleteStunning!! Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, Nicki :)
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty Nicki - you are amazing! And I already saw in Barbara's blog how much she loves it :-)
ReplyDeleteI can imagine you were beginning to worry about it (which was why I posted immediately). I saw on the postal stamp that you'd mailed it nearly 2 weeks ago!
ReplyDeleteI had fun showing it off to my DH last night and he agrees that your stitching and finishing are just FABULOUS!!
Wow gorgeuos! Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice.
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous and unique, Nicki! I bet Barbara is over the moon. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really pretty! You did a beautiful job finishing it too.
ReplyDeleteYou are incredibly talented, Nicki! Your over one and redwork is legendary, and this is yet more proof as to why. :D Brava!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Nicki, congratulations
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I want to finish something into a mattress like this as well, ever since I saw it on Vero's blog! I love your collection of redwork pieces too...just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNicki, what a truly lovely set of gifts! I love redwork, too, and I think the way you finished the pincushion is perfect. I know Barbara is in love. ;)
