M is for... mandolin?
Here's my progress on M is for Mother, for my mother. It's pretty fast to stitch and quite fun too, though I wouldn't have put some of the colours together and some of the 'speciality' stitches seem a bit pointless. There are two lots of Marking stitch that just come out looking like regular cross stitch. Interesting to know what they are and how they were used (to label linen) but not very attractive on their own. I know my mum will like it though and that's the point!
Looking good!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely Nicki. I remember how much I enjoyed working L is for Librarian, it is good to see another one of these charts being worked again.
ReplyDeleteIt looks GREAT, Nicki!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful new start! It will be so lovely when it's finished - your mom will love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress, and looks such lovely colours
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful piece Nicki.
ReplyDeleteYour mother is going to love this beautiful piece. I agree about the excess stitches some designers put in that really end up looking just like regular cross stitches. I don't get it either!
