Stitching through the seasons...

Bloggers Unite - Blog Action Day

I've been so enjoying the seasons now I'm back in the UK. Today the sun is out, it's mild and the leaves are gently falling from the trees. Beautiful. You might have noticed I have a subtitle for my blog now - stitching through the seasons. And you might have noticed the seasonal SAL blog and the seasonal stitching.

I love nature. We all take it for granted but the climate is changing. Since we've been back we've been recycling everything possible, composting, and trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We walk to the shops, we switch off lights, we buy local produce where possible. Next thing is a water barrel to collect rainwater.

This is a stitching blog, so I try to stick to stitching as I know that's what most of you come to read about. But today is blog action day and I thought I should just add a quick post to say how much I appreciate the seasons. And how much I think we can do to make sure we have them in years to come!

  2. Kudos to you!!! Each of us can make this world a better place if we each do our part, no matter how small! Every single action matters.

I just read an article the other day about 'green burials', have you ever heard of this? It sounded intrigueing and possibly even a good idea, I don't think it would go over very well with those who have deep religious convictions though.

  5. Hi Nicki

I wonder will this work. I think I might have sorted out how to comment here but it might not have my name on it!!
Thanks for your comment on my blog action day post.
You are so right about the importance of the seasons. We have to do what we can to make sure we don't lose that beauty. I was just talking to DH about the water barrel though we don't have much of a problem with lack of water in Scotland!

  7. Great post! And I agree with you. I love the seasons too. Yes, I might complain about the darkness and coldness of winter, but still, I'd be complaining even more if I didn't have the seasons at all!

And while I enjoy your stitching related posts, I don't mind reading about your other thoughts and your life in general either.
