Thinking about Christmas?!

Actually, yes, I am thinking of Christmas! There's a new Mirabilia bulletin board and they're running a new start competition, so I signed up to start Royal Holiday. I've had the chart, fabric, beads and threads for a couple of years and I thought if I started her now and worked on her a bit here and there I might actually get her finished for next Christmas! I haven't done much but I'm really enjoying her so far.

She's on 32ct opalescent Green Apple from Silkweaver. I'm not sure if they still do it as I've had it so long.

I've also been stitching on Barbara's winter exchange, which is all done. Just need some finishing supplies! And last night I did a bit more on Winter Wonderland. It's so much easier working on this at home so I think I'll do that. I have a canvas piece instead for the train!

I've been feeling a bit low recently. I couldn't figure out why and then I realised - it's my first winter in the UK for 4 years. I used to feel quite sad in the winter, but NZ winters don't have the really short days we do and the light is so much brighter over there. So I need to get some St John's Wort and I'm looking forward to the spring!

On a cheerier note, can't leave without pointing out Drawn Thread's Toccata 4. Wow! Love the new-look website too.

  6. All the stitching is gorgeous. Hope the blues pass quickly.

I love Toccata Four, it's stunning. I emailed Cynthia to double check and the model is done in the AVAS plus the Gloriana. Makes me very happy, I prefer AVAS over the NPS.

  9. Great start on Royal Holiday and I love your progress in Winter Wonderland.

Hope you're feeling brighter soon. I think the problem with Winters here now is the lack of frosty mornings and bright days that follow them. We've had such a dull horrible winter.

  10. Love your start on Royal Holiday. I just started on Mermaids of the Deep Blue. I'll have to check out the new Mirabilia board. I know what you mean about the winter blahs. The Saint John's Wart should help!
