Lady and the tramp?
Guess which one is the lady and which one is the tramp...
We're feeling a little exhausted today as Polo has been bringing a new friend home and last night it decided to stay with us.
Martin woke up at about 2.30 when a cat curled up next to him on the bed. He stuck out a hand, thought 'That doesn't feel like one of our cats', turned on the light, and there was a completely strange tabby. On the bed! As cosy as you please!
We spent the next 2 hours in and out of bed trying to get it to either go out and stay out or at least go to sleep somewhere out of the way. But no, I wanted on the bed. I think we eventually won at about 4.30 when it stopped raining and it decided to go home. But as soon as Polo went out this morning she brought it in again...
I hope it doesn't decide to move in. It's quite young and determined, and although our two aren't too bothered there was a lot of squeaking from Polo. I think it just wanted company and maybe to play with her but I wanted sleep! We would get a magnetic cat flap but Lulu keeps coming home without her collar. Somewhere in the gardens round here must be a small collection of red cat collars!
Well, that's the cat news and here's the stitching. More progress on Where My Heart Blooms. I've been stitching it in my lunch hour this week to try to make a little more progress.
By the way, pop over to Tina's blog to see her lovely finish. Congratulations Tina!

Crazy cat! I suppose you have no idea where this mystery feline actually lives?
ReplyDeleteYour Where My Heart Blooms project is really coming along! It's looks great!!
How funny is that?! It was raining and she needed a place to sleep, can't blame her! The idea that your cat brought home a friend for a sleepover is just too much! Thanks for the story, I needed a laugh.
ReplyDeleteYou are speeding along on WMHB, it looks great!
ROFLOL!!! That is brilliant! (I know, I shouldn't laugh, but it *is* funny ;) ) Our two aren't that sociable, they tend to fight with the neighbouring cats which can prove expensive in the vet bill department :\ Still, at least it means we don't end up with strange cats in the bed (still chuckling here ;) ) Hope the situation resolves itself soon!
ReplyDeleteLovely progress on WMHB :) I should hopefully be done with the house tonight (fingers crossed) and then it should be fairly plain sailing to the finish line!
LOL! That is too funny! Reminds me of a friend whose dog brought them a wet, unalive (at that point) rabbit from the yard. She'd gone out in the middle of the night, caught it and brought it back to her parents! So remember, it could be worse, Rolo could be bringing home something like mice! LOL Sorry, I hope that doesn't make sleeping tonight worse.
ReplyDeleteThere's no way on earth our Spin would ever allow another cat within 10 feet of our house - he keeps us all awake by fighting with any cat who dares enter our yard. But Rigby would quite happily bring home another dog or two if he could figure out how to work it. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on you BBD. I love this one!

Oh my goodness, a strange cat in the bed. LOL. That's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteWhere My Heart Blooms is beautiful. I love the colours in it.
Hehe, that's too funny. Another reason for me not to have a cat door. At the moment the top reasons are snakes coming in through them and Macros bringing mice inside. He catches about one mouse each day and comes to the door wanting me to let him bring it in - do I look that stupid! He must be the eternal optimist to keep bringing them in the hopes I will relent :)
ReplyDeleteStitching looks great, you are getting some good progress on this.
Thats so funny about Polo, my Tash does the same but they don't come upstairs, that was how we ended up with Floozi, Tash brought him home.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! Waking up to another cat in your bed made me laugh out loud--several times. I have the feeling you may soon have a new house mate. Thanks for sharing the story!
ReplyDeleteHee, I look forward to seeing if Polo's friend comes back or not - fancy waking up to another cat on the bed?! Love your progerss on Where My Heart Blooms, such a gorgeous design!
ReplyDeleteOMG that is so hilarious about Polo's friend! :-D Cheeky!!
ReplyDeleteYou're nearly there with WMHB - after the house it stitches up fast. It's beautiful!
Oh wow, what a cat story :) Such a surprise to find a strange cat in your bed!! Please continue the story later, I'm curious to know if this cat comes back :)
ReplyDeleteYour WIP is so beautiful, great work.
What a great cat story! Our kitty has just been out and about this last week for the first time (7 months old) and so we talk a lot about how cats have lives of their own that the owners don't even know about. I'm sure this strange cat's owners would never have imagined that their cat would go and sleep on someone elses bed. Your own dear cats are obviously extremely hospitable ( or one is). Yeah, sure you can stay at our place. No they won't mind. Just hop up on the bed! Can't you just imagine!
ReplyDeleteWow, that must have been kind of freaky! The way you tell it is so funny, though. Oh dear!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...I can't imagine waking up to a strange cat in my bed:) One more reason why my two should not go outside. Zoe would be bringing home all kinds of crazy friends
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on your stitching.
Great kitty story, hope you've slept since then?! Our cat has become an expert mouser in the last couple of months and boy is that no fun!
ReplyDeleteWmHB is looking great, it won't be long now :)
