Light the Way

I couldn't wait to show you my new start - although it's such a grey dreary day I've had to adjust the colour in Photoshop to get it anywhere near its true vibrancy.

It is, of course, Shores of Hawk Run Hollow, stitched with DMC on 40ct Vintage Autumn Gold. The fabric is gorgeous - a really rich colour that is more golden than here - and the DMC shows up wonderfully. I had been wanting to use NPI silks, but they are just so expensive for what they are. Then I saw Sally's lovely start and she invited me to join her SAL with Jane. And here I am...

I love the fabric, too - I'm not as brave as you - I'm using the 32ct. Vintage Autumn Gold.

  6. It looks great so far! It's nice to see another person whose picked up this one to stitch. I'm on block five (the big one) and put it down for a while. I should pick it up again as it's a great piece.

  13. Oooooh what a wonderful new start Nicki! I really love this design and would stitch it myself but, I wouldn't have any wall space left for it after I've stitched everything else that I have in my stash. I'll just enjoy watching yours progress.

  17. I think that sometimes we get so caught up in using recommended fibers or some sort of silks that we forget that DMC is a viable, economical solution, too. :) It's a lovely start!
