SAL photos

I've stumbled into two CHS SALs quite by accident, so here's an update. Both photos were taken at night because I keep forgetting during the day, so they are not great, but I wanted to update today.

First is my Sampler Stocking, now a SAL with Karen, who is working on the Quaker one.

And here's Shores - a SAL with Sally and Jane.

Stitching has slowed right down this week because I've got a muscle spasm in my right shoulder and side of my neck. I've no idea what brought it on, but it started on Sunday and is still very sore. In fact, I've been a mess of sore joints, sinusitis and muscle aches for the last few weeks. As we got a Wii with Wii Fit at the beginning of December and I've been exercising regularly (but not overdoing it) and losing weight, it's a bit irritating to feel worse!

  1. Lovely progress. Hope you feel better soon. Don't worry, all the exercise will pay off soon

  2. Great progress. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, hope the muscle spasm isn't stitching related (gave myself similar from an afternoon of knitting with with the cat sitting on my lap so that I had to have everything at an odd angle - not easy to get rid of).

I'm sure the exercise will pay off soon, and congrats on not just exercising but losing weight too in winter!

You're making better progress than I am, I haven't touched my stocking since I last updated - oops! Both pieces look lovely :)

Sorry about the muscle spasm - I get a lot of tension in my shoulders and find that Voltarol gel (over the counter stuff) works wonders.

  5. Love your stocking and Shores is coming along well too. I'm hoping to get this block finished by the end of January. Would like to do one a month but some look like they've got a lot more work in than others.

  9. Both SAL pieces are 'meaty' ones and they're looking great.

Sorry to hear about the shoulder spasm. I wonder if that's what I've been feeling, kind of my right shoulder/upper back! Hope mine and yours disappear soon!

Good for you on exercising. Thought about getting the Wii Fit but then didn't want another gadget in the house! You're doing great though with weight loss!

  11. Wow - two great WIPs and you're making good progress on both of them. I just pulled that stocking out today thinking that it was about time I stitched it, so I'm glad that I see you working on it. Seeing your pictures convinces me that I should give it a go!!
