Shores block 1

Here's the first block of Shores all finished - such a fun stitch! Does anyone else think those white blobs look like little leaping lambs? I'm not sure what they are but I just can't get the idea of lambs out of my head!

I can't be bothered to iron today so it's a little creased, but it is a scan rather than a photo so you get a much better idea of the proper colours.

Thanks Sally for pointing out the DMC 860 mistake on the page - I was a bit puzzled as to why I didn't seem to even have a floss bag for 860. It should be 830 if anyone else is using DMC.

Thanks too for all the sympathy about my aches and pains. My neck is still sore but much, much better. I think it must have been caused by stitching at an awkward angle with Lulu on my lap, so I have been stitching less, which is a bit of a shame. I also had to exercise a bit less too, so no weight loss this week. I have lost 10lbs in total so far though!

  1. Oh, that looks fantastic! I am also using DMC, so I'm glad that you made that distinction for me! I'm off to note it on my chart!

  2. Your Block #1 is gorgeous! Congratulations on finishing it. I want to stitch Shores. . .one day! I think the white blobs are the flying version of the bird standing on the rocks. Just a guess though.

  3. The white "blobs" are seagulls, but I like the idea of the leaping lambs!

  6. Congratulations on your Block #1 finish! I have to agree with you - those white blobs do look like flying sheep, but we do know that they have to be birds - just kind of funky ones.

Looks very nice, what is your fabric? I am planning on stitching up all 4 of the HRH series, and I have found a few errors in the colors on a couple of them. Thanks for pointing that one out.

  19. Great start! I think if you hadn't mentioned sheep I wouldn't have noticed, but now you have mentioned it... yeah those clouds do look a little like spring lambs frolicking! :-)

Well done on your weight loss. I've been at the gym for nearly 3 months, and my weight went up! Arrghh. I did lose 2% body fat, but I'd rather see proof on the scales!

Congrats also on the weight loss. With the weather we've been having lately it's easy to eat more (and bad stuff) and exercise little or none, so hats off to you.
