Lots of green...

Lots and lots of green! I seem to be spending a lot of time stitching in one colour these days - first the blue sea on Shores and now the green grass on my Sampler Stocking. It goes quickly though so I don't really mind.

I finally got some stash this week - just a little. Here's Honeysuckle Manor from Blackbird Designs. If you've been thinking about getting this but haven't - get it! I think it's the best book they've produced. Two lovely samplers and lots of little bits that are all very stitchable.

I'll be stitching Louisa Bell's sampler as soon as I can. It's just lovely. I think it would go well with Sarah Woodham from Shakespeare's Peddler - similar borders even if the main part is quite a different style.

Speaking of stash - for anyone who hasn't heard, Kathy Barrick of Carriage House Samplings has decided to close her business. It's sad news. Charts are available until July 1. I'll definitely be ordering a few as many as I can before they vanish for ever.

I agree that HM is probably their best book yet! Sampler Stocking is looking lovely, you'll be finished way ahead of me LOL

Yes, sad news about Kathy - I ordered one chart from her the other day, but have another couple that I shall probably get before she closes up for good.

  4. Wonderful progress! I really need to get mine out and work on it.

Isn't Honeysuckle Manor wonderful?! I thought the same thing about the samplers in the book going well with Sarah Woodham. I thought I'd put them in my bedroom, since the reddish tones in all of them will work well with my duvet cover. Maybe then I can get my bedroom fixed up and stop using it as the place where the ironing board is permanently set up, mismatched socks are piled up, etc.! ;)

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Your stocking is so pretty. You've reminded me that I still have this sitting in my 'To Stitch' basket.
I love the Honeysuckle Manor book. It was so hard to decide which design to stitch first. I chose the Hannah Lovina sampler.

  13. Love the progress on your stocking. I am also looking very longingly at Honeysuckle Manor, but have resisted temptation so far......I know I can't fight it forever though.
