Quaker Diamonds

Quaker Diamonds by Rosewood Manor
Stitched on 40ct Mello from Picture This Plus using one strand of Valdani thread

It's been a long time since I last blogged hasn't it?! The summer was incredibly busy work-wise. I've come to the conclusion that all summers will be frantic - everyone else buggers off goes away on holiday, leaving the work for the poor freelancer LOL! Still, it was work and it'll keep us with a roof over our heads for a while.

In between work and a little allotment tending (sadly not enough - must do better) I did manage to stitch and knit. I finished the MIL's scarf (reasonably well received), a scarf for the SIL for Christmas (not sure how that will be received but she's hard to buy for), and this - Quaker Diamonds. It was such a lovely stitch. I couldn't be bothered to get the iron out, so you'll have to pretend it's not crumpled!

Knitting photos coming another day, but don't hold your breath!

P.S. I offered the chart to a fellow stitcher a long time ago, so as far as I know it's taken. But if she doesn't need it after all I'm keeping a list and someone will get lucky :)

And it isn't 1 over 1 - what was I writing! Just the tiny letters (and they were a pain I can tell you!) It's 1 thread over 2 on 40ct. Oops :)

I'm putting this chart on my "buy" list - and if you'd told me that when it first came out, I'd have laughed! LOL

How beautiful! I joined Ravelry but I'm not quite sure what to do once I get there. There's so many things to click on I can't figure it out yet.

  16. I love it stitched on the 40ct - it looks really wonderful all stitched up. Looking forward to adding this one to my semi-rotation - just need to decide on fabric and I'm all set :)

  17. Honestly, your projects are always wonderful. But, today I was so tickled pink to see you back on the blog, that I barely noticed the new additions. I wish you well and have a great day.

  20. Congratulations on the finish Nicki, it looks wonderful. I too dislike it when others are on holiday, but I shouldn't complain as I only work (paid) two days per week. If DH takes any tome off without me, he usually takes the kids with him also.

  22. Absolutely beautiful!! I have the chart and floss in my stash, but haven't started it yet. The colors "in real life" are so rich. Was it enjoyable to stitch?
