Coffee for a coffee addict
I've been stitching on Coffee Menu by Little House Needleworks. I started it last year as something small to do when I was cat-sitting Polo and somehow it got put aside. It's a fast stitch though so I picked it up to get it finished. It's on 32ct Oyster from Countrystitch, and I changed the two ladies so one is dark haired (like me) and one has fair hair (like several of my closest friends!) I'll change some of the words too - I want 'Flat white' and 'Iced coffee' in there if possible.
I'm also stitching on small things because summer has arrived - sort of. It's muggy and humid but there's no sun. Just lots and lots of rain and grey skies. I don't mind - it keeps it a little cooler and seems to stop the local dogs/screeching kids/DIYers/neighboring jazz band from making quite as much noise (it's honestly quieter living in London than where we are in Auckland). But it does mean stitching has slowed down - partly because it's too humid to hold large bits of fabric and partly because I can't sleep and I'm pretty exhausted!
We did sleep well last night though. We sold our spare bed so moved our bed into the spare room, which is much cooler. It was bliss! It's quieter too. We're selling everything spare we can - getting organised to go home...

Hope blogger works for you soon, I can't wait to see your progress.
ReplyDelete(if it's any consolation, blogger hates me too, lol)
look forward to seeing your progress soon Nicki, I've just been able to get my pics up, only took about 3 days, lol.
ReplyDeleteNaughty, naughty Blogger! I want to see your progress picture!
ReplyDeleteIt must be kindo of exciting to make preparations to go home...
I like your piece. I enjoy coffee too. Must be a fun piece to stitch.
ReplyDeleteLove the new ticker! ;) Coffee Menu is looking great - love the hair changes ... if you can't fit in "iced coffee", you could always try "frappe" ;P Sounds like the moving is all going according to plan so far. At least you'll get some of Auckland's best weather in before you leave (ie Feb) :D
ReplyDeleteBTW, I've just been back to your other posts too, and Pompeii is absolutely stunning! Those colours absolutely POP off the fabric - it's no wonder you're enjoying stitching it so much! :D
Coffee Menu is lovely, Nicki :) Woohoo, less than 3 months before you get back to England! :)
ReplyDeleteThe coffee menu looks great! I have that chart in my stash and have been waiting for a moment to start stitching on it.
ReplyDeleteYour coffee picture is cute so far! Love how you changed the hair colors. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable!!!
ReplyDeletelol, that's one of the reasons I love winter. No noisy kids or basketball playing til all hours of the night. It's been really warm this winter, though, so it hasn't been as effective.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful piece. I am amazed at how much stitching you do.
ReplyDeleteWell it is snowing where I am so I have trouble picturing you finding it too hot to stitch.
Are you moving back to England?
This one is lovely, Nicki :)
